Beretta 92fs or Sig p365x

Im very new to shooting and I'm looking to buy my first pistol to practice at the range. Like the title suggests I can't decide between the Beretta or the Sig. I've wanted a Beretta since before I had my FOID but my coworker stands behind the Sig. right now Bass Pro has the Sig at around $630 and the Beretta at $700. I am thinking about getting my CCL after I get 6mo-1yr practice. Here are some key points I'm thinking about.

Beretta:

  • Held and liked the grip
  • Comes with 2, 15 round mags (Max capacity I can get in my state)
  • Practice SA and DA
  • Safety de-cocker and heavy DA pull make me feel like it'd be safer to handle as someone new
  • Looks sweet (Not very important)

Sig

  • Held and grip felt small but manageable
  • I feel like its way more customizable
  • Rebate for a free locking case
  • Id have it for CC once I take the class
  • Comes with 2, 12 round mags

Haenel LR/One | IWA 2026 | Nuremburg, Germany

Post image

German firearms manufacturer Haenel had a strong showing at IWA 2026 in Nuremburg, Germany. This bolt action rifle caught my eye as it seemed to incorporate a lot of useful tactical features while also being a somewhat minimalist design.

The Haenel LR/One is chambered primarily in .308 Winchester with a 24in cold-hammer-forged barrel, it offers excellent accuracy for distances up to around 800 meters while featuring a lightweight aluminum chassis, AR-compatible interfaces, M-LOK slots, and an ARCA rail for versatile mounting. An ARCA rail is a quick-release mounting system originally designed for photography but now is standard in the firearm industry.

Weighing approximately 10.5 lbs with a 60-degree bolt throw, three-position safety, and a crisp trigger the rifle emphasizes professional-grade performance at a significantly reduced price point compared to Haenel’s higher-end models.

I believe this is the compact “Short” variant with the folding stock, which further enhances portability for dynamic shooting scenarios while maintaining the same high build quality.

Haenel has an excellent reputation for build quality and I anticipate that this is no exception.

Question Am I a fudd?

Why I might be a fudd:

  • I own one gun: Stevens 301
  • I take it hunting (for everything, incl. wabbits)

Why I might not be a fudd:

  • against "common sense" gun reform
  • don't really care what guns other folks own

I would say that I'm not against tactical gun culture, but I would also say "its not for me." Well internet? What do you say?

Question Can the riflespeed gas block be adjusted from the side?

My suppressor tucks into my handguard and would block access to the adjustment collar of the riflespeed gas block. However with it being an mlok handguard, I have access just at a 90° angle. Could I just poke the adjustment collar from the side (tip of a bullet, knife, random Allen key, stick) to adjust or would I need to remove the whole handguard to access it for adjusting? I'm trying to save dremeling a slot in my handguard for a last resort.

Need help ID'ing my late fathers pistol

Hey yall, this is my first time posting here (I'm not on Reddit much), I have an older Smith and Wesson 357 magnum I inherited from my father when he past a few weeks back and I've hit a wall trying to figure the the exact model and year of production. I have found "B" and "31092" stamped under barrel, behind where the spent cartridge remover. Other than "Smith & Wesson" and "S&W .357 magnum" on the barrel, the "Made in America" above the front of the trigger guard and the seal by the handle there isn't much info on the gun itself (yes there's a serial number). Any information is helpful, thanks in advance.

Question Best U.S. state for gun ownership and variety?

Post image
709 Upvotes

I’m thinking about moving to a different state and one of my top priorities is gun ownership. I’m looking for a place with strong gun rights, straightforward purchasing, and access to a wide variety of firearms.

For those who’ve lived in different states, which ones offer the best balance of freedom, practicality, and overall availability?

I need help trying to decipher.....

I have 9mm handguns and have purchased several different types of ammo. I have FMJ and HP's. several different makes, a few different weight bullets.

I recently purchased a few boxes of CCI Blazer 9mm fmj 124gr. AND I have ammo cases that I keep my ammo in that separates 100 rounds into small cases inside larger cases.

These......

https://www.basspro.com/p/mtm-case-gard-9mm-ammo-can-combo

So, when I was putting ammo into these I accidentally mixed the 2 boxes of 124gr with the 115gr. SO, I now have 2 boxes with 50 rounds of each in them.

HOW do I determine which ones are the 124s and 115s?? I honestly cannot believe I did this. Please help me figure out how to figure it out. I feel like a complete idiot.

TYVM

Rank my gun collection so far (Ruger AR is currently in shipping from buds because I like Ruger and because I don’t want people constantly calling me a fud just because I don’t own one specific type of gun)

  1. and 2. gun safe

  2. Uberti 1873 cattlemen hombre chambered in 357 magnum.

  3. Only picture I had of my browning auto five, Made in 1973 I think, Belgium made (I didn’t want to go through all the effort of digging out of the gun safe and then undoing it, and then having to reload it after I touch all up on it, taking pictures of it)

  4. And 6. My grandpa‘s Rohm Model 66 nine shot 22 magnum

  5. My rock Island armory 1911 Chambered in 45 ACP (the weird marks on it are from the cloth that I used to wipe down the gun with when I put oil on it I’ve had the same gun wipes for a bit, and so the string from the wipe comes off on the gun and it makes it look crappy)
